Ravdoucha Epavlis case study
DESIGNED FOR DESKTOP, TABLET & MOBILE
The brand new Ravdoucha Epavlis Villas in Ravdoucha, Chania, Crete are modern full of light and with a majestic view of the Cretan sea. This was a very inspiring project, especially because of the fantastic photography by Christos Drazos. With such photography only a full screen solution was in order and this is the path the x2interactive design team chose in order to promote this wonderful place. The website has been designed and optimised for the Desktop Computer, the Tablet and Mobile devices providing users with the best possible user eXperience on each device. The website is built using the OpenSource CMS Wordpress.
SCREENS
Desktop Computer (PC, Mac, Linux)
To make the experience fuller and richer for the website visitors, we chose to add rotating images in the background and to add to those images, floating elements that would enhance the user eXprience, such as promos. The full screen, photo based approach, provides an engaging way of presenting the Ravdoucha Epavlis Villas to the website users. Using the top and bottom navigation bars, anyone can easily browse through the pages with exceptional speed and ease. Similar functionality exists on all pages of the website.
Mobile Phones (iPhones, Android, Blackberry)
Mobile access to the Ravdoucha Epavlis website is available at mobile.ravdouchaepavlis.gr. By accessing the website via a mobile device, the server automatically serves the mobile version to the visitors. Keeping in mind that users pay for mobile bandwidth, the content is optimised for mobile use and the design is minimalistic and follows the same guidelines as the Desktop version of the website. All in all, the Mobile site of the Ravdoucha Epavlis is optimised for smooth mobile phone browsing, minimum cellular data bandwidth usage and fast download speeds. For easier access, iOS and Android users can save the mobile site as a branded icon to their mobile phone’s home page.
